Charles Mizzi is the new CEO of the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), as per the Board of Governors’ decision. He is Carl Brincat’s successor.
Before Brincat leaves the position, Mizzi will begin shadowing him in the New Year. Mizzi says he is “honoured to have been given the opportunity to lead the Authority.”
Mizzi joins the position after serving as CEO of the Residency Malta Agency for five years. His prior positions have been in the finance, investing, and Maltese business domains. His first noteworthy position was as a Senior Marketing Coordinator for the Bank of Valletta in 1997, a position he held for about 11 years.
With the support of the Board of Governors and the Minister in charge, Mizzi said, “I am eager to build on past successes and work with the team to strategically steer the Authority forward so that Malta’s already strong position in the field may be further strengthened while delivering value to all stakeholders.”
The Minister for the Economy, EU Funds, and Lands, Silvio Schembri, mentioned this experience as a contributing factor to Mizzi’s acceptance of the new position. “Charles Mizzi is without a doubt the best person to carry on the MGA’s current success and guide his outstanding colleagues at the Authority towards even greater success in the future.”
